Researchers from the Parker Institute are part of a consortium that conducts a series of scientific studies on revisions of knee replacements (KR), incl. Nation-wide register-studies. Most KRs do good with pain relief and increased function. Some cases, however, lead to repeated operations with a potential for grave adverse effects. This study, led by prof Anders Odgaard, MD, DMSc, FRCS (Orthopaedic surgeon, Rigshospitalet - Copenhagen University Hospital), will clarify factors of risk with KR and aims at prevention in close collaboration between clinicians and experts in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics from Section for Biostatistics and Evidence-Based Research, the Parker Institute. The consortium has received DKK 5,000,000 from Sygeforsikringen "danmark"
