Maria Stougaard holds a bachelor degree in Food Sciences from The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Copenhagen and a master degree in human nutrition from the University of Copenhagen.
From 2010 to 2013 Maria has worked as a research assistant with focus on different aspects of human nutrition and public health at the Institute of Preventive Medicine – Frederiksberg & Bispebjerg Hospital.
Maria has since 2013 been enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Southern Denmark. The PhD project is based on national registers and biobanks with the aim to investigate the influence of vitamin D on the risk of developing preeclampsia. The PhD project is funded by The Danish Council for Strategic Research and the University of Southern Denmark. Supervisors: Prof. Berit L. Heitmann & Dr. Med. Sci., Prof. Peter Damm.
