In October 2016 Louise Klokker defended her PhD thesis during which she developed an instrument to assess pain during activity in people with knee osteoarthritis. The instrument is called ‘Dynamic weight-bearing Assessment of Pain’ (DAP). The PhD went out from the Parker Institute under supervision by Marius Henriksen, Eva Wæhrens and Henning Bliddal. Louise was enrolled at University of Copenhagen.
Before and during her PhD project Louise has been involved in several other projects at the Parker Institute, both clinical trials and epidemiological research. After handing in her thesis in June 2016 Louise has begun her postdoctoral research in clinical epidemiology with Robin Christensen as supervisor. The main project is to develop a Core Outcome Set for safety aspects in clinical trials of rheumatology. This project is of international scope and involves partners from the network ‘Outcome Measures in Rheumatology’ (OMERACT).
Alongside the PhD project, Louise has been a methods consultant for the Danish Health Authority, assisting the development of national clinical guidelines within specified areas using the ’Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation’ (GRADE) approach.
Louise is a physiotherapist by background, and graduated from The Copenhagen School of Physiotherapy in January 2005. She worked three years as a physiotherapist at Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital), at the thoracic surgical, hematological and intensive care units. In 2008 she started her Master of Health Science at University of Copenhagen, and graduated in 2010 as cand. scient. san.
Louise has been working at the Parker Institute since 2011, and has received funding from The Oak Foundation, The Danish Physiotherapy Association, The Danish Rheumatism Association, Zonta Denmark, Støtteforeningen for Gigtbehandling og Forskning ved Bispebjerg og Frederiksberg Hospitaler, and Christian og Ottilia Brorsons Rejselegat. Further, Louise has received financial support from The Parker Insitute, Deakin University, Melbourne Australia.
