Asbjørn Poulsen graduated as an MD in 2019 from the University of Copenhagen. Before graduating Asbjørn has been affiliated with Neurobiology Research Unit (NRU) at Rigshospitalet, Denmark, where he as a pre-graduate research fellow gained research experience through clinical research. After graduating Asbjørn has acquired a broad clinical experience from appointments in internal medicine, surgery and lately in orthopedic surgery as a first-year specialty registrar (Introduktionsstilling) leading to the current employment as an PhD student at Parker Instituttet.
In November 2022 Asbjørn enrolled as a PhD student at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. His PhD will focus on knee osteoarthritis exploring how the presence of calcium crystal and joint associated biomarker may predict the outcome of weight loss treatment.
